Behind Every Sunday
is an Amazing Team
Every Sunday at St. John's is made possible by volunteers who faithfully serve behind the scenes and on the front lines. From welcoming guests and preparing coffee to operating technology, caring for children, assisting in worship, and helping the campus run smoothly, these volunteers create an atmosphere where others can encounter Christ. Whether you enjoy greeting people, working with your hands, or serving quietly behind the scenes, there's a meaningful place for you to help make Sundays happen.
Serving Behind the Scenes, Caring in Big Ways
Holy Helpers
Fridays, 10:00 a.m.
Library in Church Office Building
Holy Helpers faithfully prepare St. John's for Sunday worship each week. The team meets on Fridays at 10:30 a.m. to fold bulletins, prepare the sanctuary, and take care of the finishing touches that help Sunday's services run smoothly. It's a simple but meaningful way to serve, enjoy fellowship, and help create a welcoming worship experience for the congregation.
No special skills are required, just a willing spirit and a heart for helping.
help service run smoothly
Welcome Team
Each week, we welcome newcomers with a smile and a personal greeting. If you are gifted in this area, we would love to have you join the team!
the first to welcome
Ushers
Ushers help create a welcoming worship experience by greeting attendees, assisting with seating, collecting the offering, and providing a helping hand whenever needed. Their hospitality helps every person feel comfortable and cared for from the moment they arrive.
readers and communion servers
Worship Volunteers
Lay volunteers play an important role in worship by reading Scripture, leading prayers, and assisting in serving Holy Communion. These opportunities allow members of the congregation to actively participate in leading worship and sharing God's Word.

Help Make
Sunday Happen
Every greeting, every song, every bulletin, every lesson, and every act of hospitality begins with someone willing to serve. Whether you can help every week or just occasionally, your gifts can make a meaningful difference in the worship experience of others. We'd love to help you find a Sunday serving opportunity that's a great fit for you.
serving the smallest
Nursery Volunteers
Nursery volunteers provide a safe, loving environment where our youngest children are cared for during worship and Sunday morning activities. By rocking babies, reading stories, and engaging little ones in play, volunteers give families the opportunity to participate in church with confidence and peace of mind.

Coffee Time
Snacks
Each week, volunteers bring potluck snacks to share on a rotating schedule to our 9:30 a.m Coffee & Fellowship time. It is completely optional but if you'd like to bring something to share, feel free. The more muffins the merrier!
serving in the service
Acolytes
Children and youth serve as acolytes by carrying the cross, lighting and extinguishing the altar candles, and helping lead the congregation into worship. This meaningful tradition gives young people an active role in the life of the church while reminding us that Christ is the Light of the World.

Every so often, we need a substitute for our children's and youth Sunday School classes. If this is your gifting, please let us know!
