Caring for Each Other in All Seasons

At St. John’s, we believe that no one should walk through life’s joys or challenges alone. Congregational Care is the heart of how we support one another, offering encouragement, compassion, prayer, and practical help to members of our church family. Whether celebrating a new baby, recovering from illness, grieving a loss, or simply needing a reminder that someone cares, these ministries help us live out Christ’s love in tangible ways.

Bringing Presence, Prayer, and Holy Communion

Communion Companions

Communion Companions visit home centered and facility centered members each month to share fellowship and bring Holy Communion. These visits include prayer, reflection, and a meaningful connection to the worship life of our church.

Delivering Beauty and Encouragement

Coffee Time Table Cloth Ministry

Being a table cloth laundry volunteer is a simple way to support our hospitality ministry and help keep our fellowship space welcoming each Sunday. If you're interested in joining the rotation or serving as an occasional substitute, let us know.

Nourishment During Times of Need

Meal Ministry

When members experience illness, recovery, loss, or the arrival of a new child, the Meal Ministry provides practical support through home-cooked meals and meal deliveries. A simple meal can be a powerful expression of care during life’s most demanding seasons.

Supporting Families with Compassion

Memorial Hospitality

The Memorial Hospitality Team helps care for families during Celebration of Life services and receptions. Volunteers prepare food, serve guests, and create a welcoming environment that allows grieving families to focus on remembering and honoring their loved ones.

Delivering Beauty and Encouragement

Flower Team

Each week, members of the Flower Team transform our altar flowers into bouquets and deliver them to those who could use a reminder of God’s love and the care of their church family.

Celebrating New Life

New Baby Ministry

We rejoice with families as they welcome new children into the world. The New Baby Ministry recognizes these special moments by placing a rose on the altar and helping coordinate its delivery to the family as a symbol of our congregation’s love and prayers.

Sharing Encouragement One Note at a Time

Note Writing Ministry

A handwritten note can make a lasting difference. Volunteers send cards and notes to members and friends experiencing joys, illnesses, losses, or other significant life events, offering encouragement and reminding them they are remembered and loved.

Faithfully Lifting Others in Prayer

Prayer Team

Prayer is one of the most meaningful ways we care for one another. Members of the Prayer Team receive a weekly prayer list, special prayer resources, and occasional updates, committing to pray regularly for the needs of our congregation, community, and world.

Welcome Ministry Team

The Welcome Ministry helps guests and visitors feel welcomed, connected, and valued from the moment they arrive. Team members may greet guests before and after worship services, distribute welcome bags to first-time visitors, answer questions, and assist with gathering contact information for follow-up. This team may also welcome guests and support hospitality at Coffee Time or Special Events.
